The King has arrived and ascended to the throne! After two weeks since its debut, Shah Rukh Khan's comeback project Pathaan is still performing strongly at the box office. The movie had an explosive opening weekend, earning more than Rs 300 crore. It recently broke the Rs 800 crore milestone globally and continues to do well at the box office.
Fans are showing up in significant numbers to see the movie despite the national cinema companies' lower ticket costs. Pathaan is on track to join the Rs 500-crore club at the domestic box office and has already broken the record for highest-grossing Hindi movie ever overall.
Early trend projections predict that the movie would earn Rs 6-6.5 crore on day 16 and be close to joining the Rs 500 crore club. On Wednesday, the Sidharth Anand-directed film brought in Rs. 6.75 crore (Day 15). The film is more likely to make a lot of money on the weekend, even though the weekday collection seems to be steadily declining.
The king of Bollywood is undoubtedly enjoying his success right now, and he recently used social media to thank his fans. Shah Rukh Khan wrote on instagram & twitter, “The Sun is alone….it Burns….and comes out of the darkness to Shine again. Thank u all for letting the Sun shine on #Pathaan.”
Pathaan, a movie directed by Siddharth Anand and starring Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff, is set in the same YRF Spy Universe as War and the Tiger films of Salman Khan. In his debut major motion picture, Shah Rukh Khan plays the titular Pathaan, a RAW agent who teams up with Deepika Padukone's character to battle John Abraham's terrorist agent Jim, Shah Rukh Khan’s cinematic role since 2018's Zero.
