Salaam Venky, directed by Revathy, fails to generate any revenue as it hasn't even crossed the Rs 5 crore threshold in one week! How well the movie does this weekend is still up in the air. Salaam Venky's heartbreaking narrative focuses on a mother whose boy is suffering from a terminal illness. The movie, which is based on actual occurrences, covered euthanasia.

In Salaam Venky, Kajol plays the mother of a boy with Duchenne muscular dystrophy who is 24 years old (Vishal Jethwa). The movie has not been able to draw in a crowd because it has barely made any money since its debut. The movie only made Rs 25 lakh on Day 5, December 13, hence the current total takings are only Rs 3.12 crore. Salaam Venky has intense competition from other notable releases. It is working extremely hard to make just Rs 5 crore.
