The Kashmir Files Day 3 Box Office: The Film Performs Exceptionally Well On Sunday, Earnings in the Double-Digits

Despite the circumstances, Vivek Agnihotri's film The Kashmir Files (2022) is performing well. Although being developed on a shoestring budget, with no promotion and marketing, and a slew of controversy, the picture is exploding in theatres. On March 11, the film The Kashmir Files was released in cinemas. The film made Rs 15.10 crore on Day 3, i.e, Sunday, March 13.

The film has already recouped its full budget in its debut weekend. The film more than doubled its first-day figures on Saturday [8.50 crores], after exceeding forecasts by a long shot on day one [3.55 crores]. It was evident by then that Sunday would be chaos, and that's exactly what occurred, with 14 crores* more coming in. The film now has a total of 26.05 crores* in its bank account.

Taran Adarsh, movie industry expert, also posted the numbers on Twitter. His post read, “#TheKashmirFiles shows phenomenal growth. Grows 325.35% on Day 3 [vis-à-vis Day 1]. New records metros + mass belt, multiplexes + single screens, the *opening weekend biz* is TERRIFIC across the board... Fri 3.55 cr, Sat 8.50 cr, Sun 15.10 cr. Total: ₹ 27.15 cr. #India biz.”

The film is now dealing with a very other problem, one that has more to do with displaying than anything else. The film, which was originally scheduled to be released on 500 theatres, began screening on roughly 700 screens on Friday. The number of shows on Saturday and Sunday has been doubled, and the demand for The Kashmir Files has necessitated the addition of extra screens. There are huge films like Gangubai Kathiawadi, Radhe Shyam, and The Batman that need to be released in theatres today, especially the last two. Directed by Vivek Agnihotri, The Kashmir Files stars Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Darshan Kumaar, Pallavi Joshi and others in crucial roles.
