Wars in the box office are always interesting. The numbers game gets fascinating when two high-profile films compete at the box office. Two major South Indian films hit theatres on January 11, 2022. Thunivu, starring Ajith Kumar and Manju Warrier, and Varisu, starring Thalapathy Vijay and Rashmika Mandanna, collided. Ajith and Vijay have a sizable fan base, and the opening day of their most recent films was absolutely packed. However, Varisu managed to make more money across India despite a significant dip, according to early estimates, with the Tamil version of the film garnering a mixed reception from the audience.

Furthermore, Thunivu reportedly made Rs 15 crore. According to reports, Thunivu made Rs 15 crore India net on Day 2 across all languages. The movie has managed to make a total of Rs. 39.40 crores over the past two days. On January 12, the entire Tamil occupancy for Ajith's action movie was 52.00%. As opposed to this, Varisu was able to earn Rs 16 crore in India, bringing its total to Rs 42.70 crore. The movie's overall Tamil occupancy was 45.48%.
