Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar Box Office Collection Day 2: Shraddha, Ranbir Kapoor’s Movie Sees A Slight Drop; Total Comes Up To Rs 25.73 Crore

Fans have been wowed by Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor's onscreen chemistry in ‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar.’ The movie had a phenomenal opening weekend at the box office after premiering on Holi (8 March). Following Shah Rukh Khan's ‘Pathaan’ this year, it had the second-best opening for a Bollywood movie. Day 2, March 9, saw ‘TJMM’ increase its revenue by Rs 10 crore. Its collection from the day before was roughly Rs 5 crore less. Boney Kapoor made his acting debut in the romantic comedy directed by Luv Ranjan.

‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’ seems to be drawing enormous crowds of people to the theatres. The movie starring Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor made Rs 15 crore in India on its opening day. ‘TJMM’ earned Rs 10 crore on Day 2 according to early trade data. Hence, the total amount raised now equals Rs 25.73 crore. On March 9, the total Hindi Occupancy for ‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’ was 11.46 percent.

‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’ just about stayed above water on day two as it dropped around 35%. This drop would have been pretty good if the Holi was a full out Holiday and the benefit of Holi was across the board but with a partial holiday the drop is on the higher side. The bigger issue is the film only has 23 crore nett up on the board over the two day holiday period so there is a lot of work to do and it becomes a must for the film to be up on Friday which should happen in cities but mass could see further drops as the Holi factor dies."
