Ranbir and Shraddha Kapoor appear to have mesmerized the public with their exceptional acting abilities and on-screen romantic chemistry. 'Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar,' starring the two as leads, is dominating the box office and connecting with the young audience. The Luv Ranjan-directed film, which had its worldwide cinema release on Holi (March 8, 2023), has reason to breathe a sigh of relief after grossing well in its first weekend. Throughout the long weekend, the romantic comedy performed brilliantly.
According to industry trackers, the picture grossed Rs 17.50 crore nett in India on Sunday, its fifth day of release. The film grossed Rs 15.73 crore on Wednesday, Rs 10.34 crore on Thursday, Rs 10.52 crore on Friday, and Rs 16.57 crore on Saturday. This brings the total revenue for the five days to Rs 70 crores. Ranbir Kapoor has had two hits in the last two years. He previously had success with 'Brahmastra', which provided light to an otherwise disappointing 2022 box office.
The year 2023 has not been much different. Following the smash Pathaan, the highest-earning Hindi film ever, Hindi cinema has seen films such as Akshay Kumar's 'Selfiee' and Kartik Aaryan's 'Shehzada' fail at the box office. Amidst all this, Shraddha Kapoor and Ranbir’s film seems to have revived the revenues once again.
