Before releasing in theatres, the film had its screening Busan International Film Festival in October of last year, the Kerala International Film Festival in September of 2022, and the Toronto International Film Festival. In this touching film about the life of a delivery boy, the comedian plays the protagonist. After ‘Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon’ and ‘Firangi’, this is Kapil's third acting role. Nevertheless, the film failed to draw in the audience.
According to early reports, Nandita Das' directorial debut began slowly, earning 0.40 crores on Day 1. But, with positive word of mouth, the film is projected to grow throughout the weekend. Nonetheless, Zwigato has received some attention since the official makers presented the trailer and Kapil Sharma's new avatar. Besides that, the emotional drama was up against Rani Mukerji's ‘Mrs. Chatterjee Vs Norway’ and ‘Shazam! Gods' wrath’.
The Gods' Wrath. The film, directed by Nandita Das, follows the challenges and sufferings of a food delivery kid played by Kapil Sharma. He shows how rising food delivery app demand and the high cost of living in big cities affect those who are at the bottom of the social scale but put in a lot of effort. The story, set in Bhubaneshwar, revolves around Manas (Kapil) and his wife Pratima (Shahana Goswami), and how they keep their body and soul together in order to weather the economic crisis.
