Abhijat Joshi is an Indian screenwriter particularly known for his work with Vinod Chopra Productions. He is best known as the screenwriter of Lage Raho Munna Bhai.
He received his M.F.A. from the University of Texas, Austin and is currently a professor of English at Otterbein College in Westerville, Ohio. He born in Ahmedabad (Gujarat) to professor parents. Apart from English, he can fluently read, write and speak Gujarati language as he was born and brought up amidst of Gujarati spoken people.
He studied and brought up at Ahmedabad only. He obtained his higher education and qualifications from Gujarat University. After doing his M.A. (English) with distinction, he chose teaching as career. He joined C.U. Shah Arts College situated in western part of Ahmedabad city, where he was professor of English. Writing stories and plays was his passion from his childhood. He penned number of plays, skits in Gujarati and English languages. Apart from teaching, he was beside involved in theater activities. His younger brother Saumya Joshi is beside professor and theater personality. His father and mother beside were professors. During 1992 riots, he wrote a theater production "A shaft from sunlight", which was critically acclaimed.
