With original name Ajaysinhji Daulatsinjhi Jadeja, he got popular as Ajay Jadeja. He was born on 1st February, 1971 in Jamnagar, Gujarat in a Jadeja Rajput royal family linked with the rulers of Nawanagar. He is married to Aditi Jaitley and has two children, Aiman and Aana. He is currently a member of extraa innings t-20 on Sony Max as an expert.
Jadeja was playing for Indian Cricket team from 1992 to 2000, by playing 15 test matches and 196 One Day Internationals. He was most remembered for hitting and quick finishing of the overs in the late 1990's. One of his most memorable innings was against arch rivals Pakistan when he blasted 45 off 25 balls, including 40 from the final two overs by Waqar Younis. He got a drop in his cricket career when he was found guilty in match fixing scandal, for which he was banned for five years. The ban was later removed in the year 2003 by Delhi High Court, making Jadeja eligible to play domestic as well as international cricket.
Besides cricket, Jadeja has also tried out his hands in entertainment sector. He has acted in the 2003 movie, 'Khel' alongside Suniel Shetty and Sunny Deol. Also, he acted in 2009 movie, 'Pal Pal Dil Ke Saath'. This film also featured the cricketer Vinod Kambli, Mahi Gill, Satish Shah and Sushma Seth. Ajay was a cricket anchor on Zee News for ICC Cricket World Cup of the year 2003 and 2007. Later, he signed to work as cricket analyst for the TV channels NDTV India and NDTV 24*7.
Jadeja had participated on the celebrity dance show, Jhalak Dikhla Jaa in its first season. And has also appeared in popular TV show, Comedy Circus.
He did a cameo in Abhishek Kapoor's 2013 film, 'Kai Po Che'.
