Ali Abbas Zafar Biography
Ali Abbas Zafar is an Indian film director, art director and screenwriter of Bollywood. He came into limelight with his debut directorial 'Mere Brother Ki Dulhan'. Zafar was born in Dehradun, Uttaranchal and then moved to Delhi for studies. He worked in the movie 'Amu ' (2005) in spare time while studying in Delhi University.He came to Mumbai afterwards and began working for Yash Raj Films. He assisted the directors likes of Sanjay Gadhvi , Vijay Krishna Acharya , Kabir Khan and Parmeet Sethi . In 2011, he went on to have his first Movie 'Mere Brother Ki Dulhan' as an independent director. It starred Katrina Kaif, Imran Khan and Ali Zafar in lead roles.
Zafar's next venture is the movie 'Gunday' under YRF banner. It will have a young star cast like Priyanka Chopra, Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor.
