Anil Sharma is a renowned dierector and producer of Bollywood.

In 1981 he made his debut film Shradhanjali which starred actress Raakhee Gulzar. He
produced and directed a number of flop films like Bandhan Kuchchey Dhaagon ka, Hukumat, Elaan-E-Jung,Farishtay, Tehelka and more. Later he produced Suhaag starring Akshay Kumar,Ajay Devgan and Karisma Kapoor. This was his only successful film of that time.
The director received popularity and fame after the release of his superhit film Gadar: Ek Prem Katha which has Sunny Deol and Amisha Patel in the lead role. And Anil was even nominated for the Best Director and Best Film awrds at various award ceremonies. Then he happened to produce a flop film Aashiq by Indra Kumar.
Then he directed a very expensive film, The Hero: Love Story of a Spy with Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta. But the film ultimately flopped as it could not regain the high expences. In 2004 he casted John Abraham and Bipasha Basu for his romantic thriller film Madhoshi. And then worked with superstars like Amitabh Bachchan and Akshay Kumar for his next film War film Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Saathiyo. Both of these films bombed in to the box office.
In 2007 he directed Apne casting the Deol family. This film bagged good results at the box office. Salman Khan's Veeris his upcoming film. This film revolves around the love story of a warrior.
