Arjun Kapoor Biography

Ishaqzaade fame Arjun Kapoor is a very talented actor and director also. He is a son of famous producer Boney Kapoor. So no doubt he has a skill of acting and directing as he has grown up in a totally filmy background. Arjun is a stepson of famous actress Sridevi. His real mother is Mona Shourie Kapoor , the first wife of Boney Kapoor. Actress Sonam Kapoor is Arjun's first cousin and actors Anil Kapoor and Sanjay Kapoor are his uncles. Arjun has one real sister Anshula and two half sisters Jhanvi and Khushi. Being an overweight, Arjun decided to take up direction of the films. His family supported his decision. But soon,actor Salman Khan helped him in grooming and losing his weight. Salman inspired him to take up acting.

The handsome hunk , born on 26th June 1985 in Chembur, Mumbai, was an assistant producer for the films like 'No Entry','Wanted','Milenge Milenge' etc. He also worked as an assistant director for the films like 'Shakti - The Power','Kal Ho Naa Ho' and 'Salaam-E-Ishq'.

When Salman insisted Arjun to take up acting, he accepted Yash Raj Film's movie 'Virus Diwan'. But things got changed in the meantime and he made his successful debut through Yash Raj Films movie 'Ishaqzaade' with newbie Parineeti Chopra. The movie was directed by Habib Faisal (Do Dooni Chaar fame). The movie got an enormous response from the people and the audience. Critics gave accolades to Arjun for his outstanding performance as an actor in this film. After that movie, Arjun became a star and popular in the young generation.Girls and boys started to follow him on the various social networking sites. He got nominated as the best male debut and got an award for the same.

Arjun is currently working on a few projects like 'Aurangzeb' directed by Atul Sabharwal and a star cast like Swara Bhaskar,Rishi Kapoor and Jackie Shroff. 'Gunday' with Ranveer Singh and Priyanka Chopra, directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and produced by Yash Raj films. '2 States' with Alia Bhatt which is directed by Abhishek Varman and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala.'Kick' with Salman Khan and Deepika Padukone which is directed and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala.
