Ashish Vidyarthi Biography

Ashish Vidyarthi is an Indian actor born on June 19, 1962 in Tellicherry, Kerala. He is the son of famous Kathak dancer Reba Vidyarthi and his father is a Malayali theatre personality Govind Vidyarthi. He grew in Delhi and went to Bharati Vidya Bhavan School. Like his parents even he chose to perform on stage. Right from his schooling days he was kindling his acting skills by participating in cultural programs. He graduated with BA degree from Hindu College.

Ashish started his career with Sai Paranjpye's 'Hum Panchhi Ek Daal Ke' serial and then went on acting in number of regional TV serials. He marked his big screen debut with a Kannada film 'Anand', while his Bollywood debut was with 1993's '1942 A Love Story' film. Though Ashish Vidyarthi was known for his comic act, he earned the "Bad Guy" reputation with villainous roles in 'Baazi', 'Naajayaz', 'Oh Darling! Yeh Hai India', 'Ziddi', 'Daud', 'Is Raat Ki Subah Nahin', 'Vaastav', 'Refugee', 'Haseena Maan Jaayegi' and many others.

Ashish holds the record of wining National Film Awards for Best Supporting Actor for 'Drohkaal'. He also holds the merit of being "Number 1 Villain" in South Indian film industry, along with his fellow villains Mukesh Rishi and Rahul Dev.
