Ashmit Patel Biography

Born in a Gujarati Patidar Leva Patel family on 13 January, 1978, Ashmit Patel is a Bollywood actor. He is the son of Asha and and Amit Patel and the grandson of well-known lawyer-politician Barrister Rajni Patel. Ashmit is brother of Bollywood actress Amisha Patel. He did his schooling from Cathedral and John Connon school in Mumbai and his further education was done from University of Texas at Austin in US. For this, Ashmit received a Bachelor's degree in Business. After his education, he started working along with his father for some period of time, but later ventured into acting field.

Ashmit commenced his career as an assistant director and assisted Vikram Bhatt in making of films, such as 'Awara Paagal Deewana', 'Aap Mujhe Achhe Lagne Lage', 'Footpath' and 'Raaz'. Vikram Bhatt's 2003 release 'Inteha' was the debut film of Ashmit Patel in Bollywood. Post this, Ashmit featured in the erotic-thriller 'Murder' alongside Emraan Hashmi and Mallika Sherawat. This movie was Ashmit's first commercial success. The other thriller 'Nazar' of the year 2005 by Soni Razdan, starred Ashmit in the role of a serial killer. Then, he appeared in the lead role in the movies like 'Banaras', 'Dil Diya Hai' and 'Fight Club'. In 2006, Ashmit featured alongside Rekha and Mahima Chaudhry in the comedy film 'Kudiyon Ka Hai Zamana'. 'Toss' was his next release in 2009.

In the 4th season of popular television reality show 'Bigg Boss', Ashmit Patel appeared as one of the finalists. On UTV Bindass channel, Ashmit anchored a show titled 'Superstud'. The handsome hunk Ashmit Patel is the life member of International Film And Television Club of AAFT.
