Bindiya Goswami Biography
Bindiya Goswami is an Indian actress born on August 8, 1961 in Mumbai India. Here she completed her schooling and was discovered by Hema Malini's mother at a party when he was just 14 years old. It was her strong resemblance to her daughter Hema, she recommended her name to filmmakers.
Bindiya marked her debut with 'Jeevan Jyoti' opposite Vijay Arora, but this film went flat at the box-office. She got her another chance Basu Chatterjee's 'Khatta Meetha' (1977) and 'Prem Vivah' both the films were successful. However, Hrishikesh Mukherjee's 'Gol Maal' is considered as her biggest blockbuster till date. After proving her potential as an actress, she went on replacing the "dream girl" Hema Malini.
Though Bindiya's career span lasted from late 1970s to early 1980s, she gave some of her remarkable performance and gained appreciations for her looks.
On the personal front, Bindiya got married to her frequent co-star Vinod Mehra but their marriage didn't work out. After her divorce, he found love again in filmmaker J. P. Dutta for whom she even quitted her prospering filmy career. She has two daughters named Niddhi and Siddhi with him. She reconnected to Bollywood by designing costumes of Kareena Kapoor and Rani Mukherjee in Dutta's films like 'Border', 'Refugee' (2000) and 'LOC - Kargil'.
