Chandrachur Singh Biography

Chandrachur Singh is an Indian Bollywood Actor majorly known for his movies 'Maachis' and 'Josh'. Chandrachur is the brother of Aditya and actor-Producer Abhimanyu Singh. His wife is Avantika Kumari. They have a son Shraanajai Singh. Chandrachur hails from Aligarh in Uttar Pradesh. His birth place is New Delhi. The actor comes from a very elite family his dad being an ex-MLA of Aligarh and his mom was Daughter of the Maharaja of Bolangir, Orissa. He did his schooling at The Doon School, Dehradun and also studied at St. Stephens in New Delhi. He also taught music in The Doon School before entering Bollywood.

Chandrachur debuted in the ABCL produced movie 'Tere Mere Sapne' alongside Arshad Warsi which could not do well. He was then noticed for his role in the Gulzar's Movie 'Maachis' opposite Tabu for which he was granted a Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut. Then he featured in many movies which bombed at the Box-office like 'Daag-The Fire' (1999), 'Kya Kehna!' (2000). But then Chandrachur appeared in 'Josh' alongside Aishwarya Rai and Shah Rukh Khan which was a super hit. In the duration of the shoot of Josh at Goa, Chandrachur met with an accident while water skiing. He got multiple dislocation of his shoulder joint which compelled him to take a rest and got him gain too much weight as he could not work out. The talented actor has admitted that the pain has reappeared sometimes up till now. He also lost many movies due to overweight and time. Chandrachur could appear only in some movies after the injury like 'Aamdani Atthani Kharcha Rupaiya' (2001) 'Bharat Bhagya Vidhata' (2002) etc. which could not do much for him. He appeared in his brother's production 'Maruti Mera Dosst'. The actor made his comeback with 'Chaar Din Ki Chandni'. He will soon be seen in 'Zila Ghaziabad'.
