Gulshan Grover Biography
Gulshan Grover is an Indian actor, popularly known as 'Bad Man' of Bollywood. He was born on 21st September, 1955 in Delhi. He holds a post graduation degree from Delhi's Sri Ram College of Commerce. Before venturing in movies he was associated with theater. 'Little Theater Group' is where he honed his acting skills. He later got his formal acting training at reputed institute 'Acting Studio', with the batch mate, Anil Kapoor. At present, he imparts lectures at the same acting school.
In his budding days, he was allured by the lifestyle of rich-n-famous people, so he planned to do something which would make him popular. Therefore, without being judgmental, he went on doing roles that came his way. He went on playing antagonist roles and that's what became his unique quality in Bollywood. He debuted in Bollywood in the year 1981 with the film 'Hum Paanch'. Since then, Grover has done more than 400 films including Hindi films as well as numerous international projects. His most remarkable performances were seen in the films like 'Arth', 'Sadma', 'Rocky' (1981), 'Avtaar', 'Ram Lakhan', 'Khatron Ke Khiladi' (1988), 'Mohra' (1994), 'Raja Babu', 'International Khiladi', 'Yes Boss' (1997), 'Earth' (1998),'Hera Pheri' (2000), 'Lajja', 'Boom', 'Gangster' (2006), 'Karzzzz', 'Knock Out' and 'Agent Vinod' (2010).
His international projects include 'Marigold', 'Desperate Endeavors', 'Breaking Waves', 'Blind Ambition', 'Sweet Amerika', 'We're No Monks', 'Les Mystres de Sadjurah' and many more.
His performance in the film 'I am Kalam' got him huge appreciation and drawn him the nomination of the National Award of India 'Best Supporting Actor'. He has been internationally awarded as 'Best Actor' at New York City Film Festival and Houston Film Festival for his noteworthy roles in the movies 'Indian Holly man', 'Spiritual man', Dada Bhagwan for film 'Desperate Endeavours'.
He will be seen playing a bad guy 'Azazel' in the movie based on a comic book 'Nephilim'. In fact, the character is designed keeping in mind Grover's features.
