Himani Shivpuri Biography
Himani Shivpuri is one of the respectable character artists in the Hindi film industry. She appears in both films and television. Himani Shivpuri is a very talented actress. She fits into every role she does whether it's a serious kind of role or comic role. Himani was born in 1960 in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. Her father was a Hindu teacher at the Doon School in Dehradun. She attended the same school. She had a keen interest in acting since childhood so she started taking part in her school plays. Later she did post graduation in Organic Chemistry.During college years, her interest in plays and acting grew day by day. So she started taking part in plays on a major level. After finishing her studies, she took an admission in the National School of Drama in Delhi. She got a degree in acting in 1984. Himani's husband Gyan Shivpuri passed away in 1995. She has a son named as Katyayan.
She made her debut in acting in the year 1984, with the film 'Ab Ayega Mazaa. She later appeared in TV series too.Simultaneously Himani did many art films too. But she came to the limelight in Sooraj Barjatya's family drama 'Hum Aapke Hai Kaun'. She has never looked back since then. The talented actress did the character roles, supporting roles and comic roles in numerous films and television serials.
Some of her remarkable films include, 'Mammo','Koyla' ,'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai','Hum Saath Saath Hain','Pardes' ,'Anjaam','Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge', 'Hum Aapke Hai Kaun'. Over the years she did many films for Yash Raj Films, Rajshri Productions, Dharma Productions etc.
She was recently seen in the films like 'Do Knot Disturb','My friend Ganesha 3','Milenge Milenge','Bodyguard','U R My Jaan','Zindagi Tere Naam','3 Bachelors' etc. Her next releases are 'Dekha Jo Pehli Baar', 'Ammaa Ki Boli' and 'Rabba Main Kya Karoon'.
