Hrithik Roshan Biography

The Greek god of the Bollywood, shy, talented and down to earth Hrithik is famous for his enticing star quality. Known as the gentleman of the Bollywood , Hrithik was born on 10th January in 1974 in Mumbai. His father is a famous actor, director and producer Rakesh Roshan and his mother's name is Pinky. His paternal grandfather was a famous music director late Roshan and his maternal grandfather was J. Om Prakash who was a producer and director whereas his uncle Rajesh Roshan is a music director too. The green eyed star, has a sister who is elder than him. The trained dancer has two thumbs on his right hand which is a rare thing. The down to earth guy ,has overcome the stammering problem in his childhood. Hrithik has completed his schooling from the famous Bombay Scottish School in Mumbai and later went to the Sydenham College to get a bachelors degree in commerce. He left his MBA scholarship and opted for an acting career.

Hrithik made his debut in the Bollywood when he was just 6 years old. His maternal grandfather gave him a chance to appear in the film 'Aasha' in 1980. Later he worked in 'Aap Ke Deewane' in 1980 and 'Bhagwan Dada' in 1986. But his father didn't give him a chance to work in the film just easily. He had to strive hard for it. The talented actor has worked for many years on the sets of his father's films. He has done everything on the sets from sweeping, catering to assisting his father in the movie direction , story and dialogues. Later in the year 2000, Hrithik made his debut through the film 'Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai' with the debutante Amisha Patel. The film was a huge success at the box office and Hrithik and Ameesha became the heartthrobs of young generation overnight. Girls were crazy for him.

In the same year, the guy with the winsome smile acted in another film 'Fiza' with Karisma Kapoor and Neha. The film was a failure at the box office but critics appreciated Hrithik's performance in that film. His last film of that year was 'Mission Kashmir' starring Sanjay Dutt and Preity Zinta was also a success at the box office and in this film also Hrithik got a critical acclaim.

In the year 2001, Hrithik appeared in the film 'Yaadein' followed by Karan Johar's family drama 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham' which was also a hit movie. It is considered as the biggest overseas success. The year 2002 was an unsuccessful year for Hrithik. His all the three films 'Na Tum Jaano Na Hum','Aap Mujhe Achhe Lagne Lage' and 'Mujhse Dosti Karoge' were totally flop. Many people started questioning about Hrithik's acting talent and career.

But in the year 2003, Hrithik made a successful comeback through his sci-fi 'Koi... Mil Gaya'. Whereas in 'Lakshya' which was released in 2004, everybody appreciated Hrithik's performance. The guy with well toned and chiseled body , Hrithik took a two years of break in acting and then reappeared through the sequel of his 'Koi... Mil Gaya'. The film was 'Krrish' which released in 2006. The film was also declared as a blockbuster. His 'Dhoom 2' had also been a big success where he played a negative character. He also acted in Ashutosh Gowarikar's periodic flick 'Jodha Akbar' . He played the role of emperor Akbar in this film. He got a critical acclaim for this movie.

He did a small cameo in Zoya Akhtar's movie 'Luck By Chance' in 2009. His next film was Anurag Basu's much hyped film 'Kites' along with Kangana Ranaut and Mexican actress Barbara Mori. The film was declared as a flop. He then got a much praise by playing a role of a quadriplegic patient in 'Guzaarish' opposite Aishwarya Rai. His next release was 'Zindagi na Milegi Dobara' by Zoya Akhtar also starring Abhay Deol,Farhan Akhtar and Katrina Kaif was also a hit. People loved his performance in that film.

The perfectionist did a role of the famous Vijay Dinanath Chauhan in his next release 'Agneepath' which was a super hit film. Critics appreciated his performance in that film.

The most complete actor Hrithik is married to his long time love Suzanne Khan , daughter of famous actor Sanjay Khan and the couple has two cute kids named Hridhaan and Hrehaan.

Duggu a.k.a Hrithik is known for his sincerity and punctuality towards his work. He is a hard working guy who had to struggle for his well built body during his childhood. He was so thin that we could not believe that he has come a long way today.

In 2013, Hrithik made a cameo in the film 'Main Krishna Hoon' and currently busy in his new projects 'Krrish 3' ,'Bang Bang' and 'Paani'.
