Ace filmmaker Imtiaz Ali, is undoubtedly one of the biggest commercial cinema directors in current scenario. Imtiaz touched the sky of glory with his romantic-comic-drama 'Jab We Met,'. Imtiaz is married to Preeti Ali.
Imtiaz was born on 16th June 1971. He schooled in Patna and later in Jamshedpur. After it, he attended Delhi University and participated in theaters in College. He started Ibtida, the dramatic society of Hindu College. He moved to Mumbai and pursued a diploma from Xavier's Institute of communication.
Ali started his career with directing TV serials such as Kurukshetra for Zee TV and Imtehaan for Star Plus. He then promoted himself to Bollywood films. In 2005, he made his Directorial venture with 'Socha Na Tha,' starring Ayesha Takia, and Abhay Deol,. Though it did not do a good business, it got critical acclaim. His next directorial venture 'Jab We Met,' was the one which provided a boost to his career. The film starring Kareena Kapoor, and Shahid Kapoor, was also credited to have established both the actors. The movie is considered as one of the landmark movie of Indian Cinema. His next movie 'Love Aaj Kal,' gained a huge commercial success. His next was 'Rockstar,' starring Ranbir Kapoor,. Though initially the film got mixed reviews it emerged as a blockbuster at the end. He also wrote stories for 'Ahista Ahista,' (2006), 'Cocktail,' (2012) other than his own movies.
Imtiaz is ready to venture in Production with movie 'Highway,' starring Alia Bhatt, and Randeep Hooda,. Imtiaz will also make a remake of a South Korean movie starring Sushant Singh Rajput.
