Isha Koppikar Biography
The beautiful and stunning Isha Koppikar is from a Konkani family. Her family's origin is Maglorian who speaks Konkani. Isha comes from a very elite background. Her house is full of a learned academicians, and so is Isha who has completed a course in life science. Born on 19th September in the year 1976 in Mumbai, Isha took her degree from the famous Ruia College in Mumbai. The charming actress has one younger brother. She has appeared in many Kannada, Telugu, Tamil and Hindi films. Married to her long time love Timmy Narang, Isha has now made a debut in Marathi film industry too. When Isha was doing her degree in Ruia College, she did a photo shoot for famous photographer late Gautam Rajadhyaksha. This gave her a chance to appear in various commercial advertisements like Rexona, L'Oreal, Camay, Coca-Cola and Tips and Toes etc. Then she took a part in miss India contest too in the year 1995. She won the title of 'Miss Talent'.
Many producers and directors recognized her after watching her commercials and then finally she made a debut in the film industry through a Tamil film 'Kaadhal Kavithai' in the year 1998. Since her first film, she had never looked back and acted in more than 40 Hindi and south Indian films. Isha is a spokesperson for PETA and had received the 10th Anniversary Huminatarian Award in December 2009 for her work in the field of animal rights organization. Besides modeling and acting, Isha has a black belt in Taekwondo. Isha also took part in various ramp shows and is doing modeling for the designer Anita Dongre.
Stunningly beautiful and tall Isha got her first chance and fame in Ram Gopal Verma's film 'Company'. She did an item number 'Khallas' for this film. Her dance number brought her instant fame and she was known as the Khallas girl since then. After that Isha acted in many films but they could not do at the box office.
Her name bounced back to the controversy after her lesbian role in the film 'Girlfriend'. She faced very much controversy for this role. Her negative character in the film 'Qayamat' and her performance in the film 'Pinjar' won her a lot of appreciation from the critics and audiences.
