Jasjit Singh Gill is known as one of the talented actors in the tinsel town. Jimmy originates from Punjab and is a well known actor of Hindi and Punjabi films. Handsome Jimmy is from a Sikh family and was born in Uttar Pradesh's Gorakhpur. Later he shifted to his ancestral place Punjab to pursue his studies. He studied in the Punjab Public School and in Bikram College of Patiala. Sri Harpal Singh is his Guru in acting. He learnt all the acting skills from him and then shifted to Mumbai to try his luck in the B-town. Before starting a full-fledged career in the film industry, he married Priyanka Puri who is from Delhi and enjoyed being a proud father of a gorgeous young boy named Veer Shergill.

Born on 3 December 1970, Jimmy started his Bollywood career in the year of 1996 with Gulzar's critically acclaimed film 'Maachis'. He got a lot of appreciation for his good acting in this film. And then he got a chance to work with Aditya Chopra in his famous film 'Mohabbatein' along with a big star cast like Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai. He made this chance of his life , a golden opportunity with his hard work and dedication towards work.

Later, the talented actor got very much praise for his good performance in the films like 'Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai', 'Yahaan', 'Munna Bhai M.B.B.S' , 'Lage Raho Munnabhai', 'Eklavya', 'A Wednesday', 'Tanu weds Manu' 'My Name is Khan' and 'Sahib Biwi Aur Gangster'.
