Jugal Hansraj Biography

Jugal Hansraj is an Indian actor turned director born on July 26, 1972 in Mumbai. He started his career as a child artist debuting in Naseeruddin Shah and Shabana Azmi starrer 'Masoom' (1983). Working with such great actor gave him zeal to prosper in this field. The film got good response and launched Jugal's career in Bollywood.

Jugal continued to work as a child actor in films like 'Karma' (1986) and 'Sultanat'; also he appeared in advertising for the brands like Vicks Vaporub and Safola. But his campaign for Nutramula is best known for its catchy slogan "Be a Nutramula Dada".

After growing up, Jugal started his career with 'Aa Gale Lag Jaa' opposite Urmila Matondkar who played his sister in his first film. His next film was 'Papa Kahte Hain' in the year 1995. But 'Mohabbatein' proved his breakthrough film as it stared Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai and a huge young star cast including Jugal. He went on playing minor roles in big-budgeted films like 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham', 'Salaam Namaste' and 'Aaja Nachle'.

Jugal ventured into direction and screenplay writing with animated film 'Roadside Romeo', being rare of it's kind the film also holds special credits because Kareena Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan and Javed Jaffrey have lend their voice to the animated characters of this film. Though the film went flat at the box-office, still it earned number of awards including the National Film Award for Best Direction in Animation film and Best Animation Film at the prestigious Cairo International Film Festival. His second directorial project was Yash Raj Films' 'Pyaar Impossible!' starring Priyanka Chopra and Uday Chopra.

In 2014, he tied knot with his longtime girlfriend Jasmine in a private marriage ceremony in Oakland, Michigan.
