Mahima Chaudhry Biography
Mahima Chaudhry is one of the most versatile actresses in the Bollywood industry. She was born as Ritu Chaudhry on 13 September 1973. Mahima was also an ex-model.
Her father hails from UP and is a Hindu Jat, while her mother is Darjeeling-based Nepali. Mahima was born in Darjeeling and did her schooling from a very popular convent school in Darjeeling. In the year 1988, Mahima did her ISC board. She was a student of Loreto College in Darjeeling.
Prior shifting her base to Delhi, Mahima participated and won a local beauty pageant in Darjeeling. The young Mahima was seen in television commercials of Wall's Ice Cream and Pepsi. This fresh talent worked as a VJ on various music channels and then arrived a golden chance for her. The eminent Bollywood personality Subhash Ghai perceived the acting talent in her and launched her movie career with the film 'Pardes' in 1997. Mahima played the role of village girl with great values 'Ganga' in the movie and she was paired with none other than king of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan. Actor Apoorva Agnihotri was also starring in 'Pardes'. Mahima received rave reviews for her performance in the film. Incredible Mahima achieved Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut for 'Pardes'.

The movie 'Yeh Tera Ghar Yeh Mera Ghar' (2001) saw Mahima as a stubborn tenant, who is very possessive about her home. In the film 'Dil Hai Tumhaara', (2002) Mahima portrayed a loving sister, who cares a lot about her sister's happiness. A loving homemaker was her image portrayed in the film 'Om Jai Jagdish' (2002). 'Dobaara' (2004) saw Mahima as an upset housewife. The chirpy actress was seen as a paralytic dancer in the film 'Zameer' (2005). 'Tere Naam' (2003) was the film in which Mahima did a special appearance in a song.
