Mandira Bedi is a famous actress, television presenter and a well established model. She got famous after she played the title role in a TV serial Shanti in 1994. Shanti was the first daily soap of the Indian television. Mandira comes from a Punjabi speaking Bombay based family. She was born on 15th April 1972 in Mumbai. Her parents are Gita Bedi and Verinder Singh Bedi. Her father Verinder Singh Bedi worked at ICI on a transferable job so Mandira spent her childhood in Mumbai. She went to the Cathedral and John Conon School. Mandira went to St. Xaviers College in Mumbai to pursue graduation. She holds a bachelors degree in Economics. Later, she did the post graduation from Sophia Polytech in Mumbai.
After 'Shanti' Mandira was seen in a supporting role in 'Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge'. She played an antagonist Mandira in Ekta Kapoor's 'Kyonki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi'. She also hosted the reality show 'Fame Gurukul' on Sony TV. She also hosted 'Jo Jeeta Wohi Superstar' on Star One. She judged the comedy shows 'Funjabi Chak De' and 'Laughter Knights' on Star One with Navjot Singh Sidhu. She took part in the reality show Fear Factor India and came up as a winner. Mandira was seen in the movie based on Cricket called 'Meerabai Not Out' and '42 Kms'.
Apart from this, she was a brand ambassador of Sony Max and presented the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 with commentator Charu Sharma. She has appeared on the cover pages of many magazines . Mandira who is actively involved in theatre, has anchored many award functions as well. Besides this, Mandira has endorsed for many big brands like Eday, Dettol, Asmi, Dabur, Leher, South Africa Tourism etc. Mandira is a winner of two style award for being the most stylish person on the television.
The multi talented actress got married to Raj Kaushal in 1999 and the couple has a son named Vir.
