Mita Vashisht is a Bollywood actress.

Mita was born in 1967 and did her post graduation from Punjab University, Chandigarh in Literature. She later joined the National School of Drama. She holds workshops in theater in places like London, Birmingham, Leicester, and Damascus.

Career

Mita Vashisht has produced various TV serials and short films. Mita was the executive producer of 'The Name of a River', which is an award winning film. She has participated in various plays as an actor and script writer too. Mita has worked in a solo play, Lal Ded, in English, Hindi, and Kashmiri languages.

Mita was stuck in a lot of controversy after doing her first two films, Siddheshwari and Kasba, where she was seen naked. She appeared in films like Ghulam, Phir Milenge, Taal, and Englsih August.

She acted in the Amitabh Bachchan starrer, Aladin (2009), which was based on the Arabian Night's tale. She will soon be seen in Leena Yadav's Teen Patti (2010).

After acting in Swabhimaan, she acted in the famous TV serial Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii by Ekta Kapoor. Mita played Trishna Agarwal in this serial.
