Nitish Bharadwaj is famously known as Krishna after he played that role in B. R. Chopra's Mahabharat.

Nitish studied to become a veterinary doctor.

He belongs to the Bharatiya Janata Party and contested the elections from Rajgarh and Jamshedpur. In 1996 he was elected as the Member of Parliament for Lok Sabha.

Television

In 1988, Nitish played the role of Lord Krishna in Mahabharat by B. R. Chopra and found a huge fan pursuing and popularity. It was featured on television for a long period of 12 years. Later in 2002 the actor was seen playing Ram in Ravi Chopra's Ramayan which was aired on Zee TV. He beside played Vishnu in Chopra's Vishnu Puran.

Nitish beside tried his luck as a director. He directed TV serials like Gita Rahasya and Apraadhi.

Films

The actor could not make a successful career in films. He has starred in a couple of Marathi films like Tuzhi Mazhi Jamli Jodi, Anapekshit and, beside a Malayalam film, Njan Gandharvan by P. Padmarajan.

He was seen in a few Hindi films like Tuzhi Mazhi Jamli Jodi, Sangeet, and Prem Shakti.
