The artist was born in a typical Punjabi family on 7th October, 1983. She is the daughter of a businessman Pawan Gandhi and her mother Jyothi Gandhi is a homemaker. She was the student of Meerut-based Sophia Convent and Dewan Public School. Pooja is having two sisters, Suhani Gandhi, who is a tennis player and Radhika Gandhi, who works in Kannada films.
