Priyanka Chopra Biography

She was titled as the most beautiful woman in the world, people love her smile, her voice and her bee stung lips, none other than Priyanka Chopra , the leggy lass is considered as one of the most talented actresses in the tinsel town. Priyanka Chopra was born on 18th July 1982 in Jamshedpur. Her father Capt.Dr. Ashok Chopra and her mother Dr. Madhu Chopra both serve the Indian Army. She has one younger brother named Siddharth. Being from the family of Army people, Priyanka has lived in many places. She has studied in many schools such as 'La Martiniere Girls School in Lucknow, Army School in Bareily . For some years she has lived in the US too and studied there in Massachusetts and North Delta. She joined Jai Hind College in Mumbai for higher studies but later left it. In the year 2000, Priyanka took a part in the Miss World competition and won the title.

Priyanka made her debut in the film industry through one Tamil film 'Thamizhan' in the year 2003. Her first Bollywood film was 'The Hero' with Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta. She then appeared in 'Andaaz' with Akshay Kumar and Lara Dutta. Her next releases were 'Plan','Asambhav' and 'Kismat' which were unsuccessful at the box office. She got the Filmfare award for the best Female debut for 'Andaaz'.

But her role in the comedy flick 'Mujhse Shaadi Karogi' was well appreciated. The film had Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar opposite her. But she came into limelight through the film 'Aitraaz' which starred Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor. In this film, the beautiful actress essayed the negative role which was very well appreciated by one and all. She got lots of accolades for her outstanding performance in that film. She has received an award for the best performance in the negative role.

In the year 2005, the gorgeous lady starred in total 6 films. They are 'Karam','Blackmail','Yakeen','Barsaat','Waqt' and 'Bluffmaster'. Out of which only 'Waqt' and 'Bluffmaster' got a success at the box office. In the next year, Priyanka appeared in two box office hits 'Krrish' and 'Don - The Chase Begins Again'.But her next releases 'Salaam-E-Ishq' and 'Big Brother' failed at the box office. In the next year, she again appeared in the films like 'Love Story 2050','Drona','God Tussi Great Ho' and 'Chamku' . All the films could not do much business at the box office and were declared as a flop. But her next release 'Fashion' by Madhur Bhandarkar brought her the much needed fame and success. The film was a critical as well as commercial success. Priyanka has delivered the excellent performance in that film. Priyanka has got an award for the best actress for 'Fashion'. Her next film 'Dostana' with John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan was also a successful movie.

In her next, Priyanka essayed 12 different roles in one film named 'What's Your Raashee? ' with Harman Baweja. The film could not do well at the box office but Priyanka's performance was very well appreciated by critics and audiences. In 'Kaminey' opposite Shahid Kapoor, she portrayed a Marathi girl. She again appeared in 'Pyaar Impossible!' with Uday Chopra and in 'Anjaana Anjaani' with Ranbir Kapoor. 'Pyaar impossible!' could not do well at the box office but 'Anjaana Anjaani' was well received by the critics and audiences. Piggy's next film was '7 Khoon Maaf' which failed at the box office but Priyanka's performance received lots of critical appreciation. She won the prestigious Filmfare Critics award for her role. Her next was 'Don 2' with Shah Rukh Khan. The film got mixed response but Priyanka's performance received a positive reaction from the critics.

Priyanka's recent release is 'Agneepath' with Hrithik Roshan and Sanjay Dutt.The film was a huge critical and commercial success. She also appeared in Kunal Kohli's flick 'Teri Meri Kahani' with Shahid Kapoor. The film and Priyanka's performance were well received. She has appeared in Anurag Basu's film 'Barfi!' with Ranbir Kapoor. She has essayed the character of an autistic woman. Priyanka did lots of homework for her role and did it perfectly. The film and Piggy's performance got a wide critical acclaim and the film was a huge commercial success. Her role in this film is considered as her best performance till date. She got a nomination for the best actress's award for this role. Her next was 'Deewana Main Deewana' which was shot 4 years ago and released in 2013 . The film could not do well at the box office. The multi talented actress is a trained western classical singer who has launched her own music album recently. Priyanka also involved in many humanitarian causes and charity work. She also does some stage shows for charity. The beautiful actress has done brand endorsement for many products such as Samsung, Garnier , Honda Pleasure etc.
