Raj Babbar Biography
Raj Babbar is a noted Indian Actor who has entertained in Punjabi and Hindi Movies. He is also a politician and MP of Firozabad. In his personal life he is married to Nadira Babbar, Daughter of Sajjad Zaheer. They have two kids Actors Arya Babbar and Juhi babbar. Actor Prateik Babbar(Patil) is his son from his second wife Smita Patil who is no more.
Babbar was born on 23rd June 1952 in Tundla, Uttar Pradesh. He was a part of National School of Drama 1975 batch and holds a degree from Agra College. He learned Method Acting while doing the street plays at NSD. Completing his training, he came to Mumbai to achieve his dreams. He started his Filmy career in 1977. He emerged as a character actor after he portrayed a Negative Role of a Rapist in 'Insaaf Ka Tarazu'. He has also done many films under B.R.Chopra's Production. He developed himself majorly as an Art film actor, though essayed different characters in different genres. Raj also simultaneously excelled in Punjabi movies and gave some big hit there. It is said that most of the time Raj did Punjabi movies for free as he has a soft corner for Punjabi Cinema. Raj Babbar in his career majorly co-starred with Smita Patil, Reena Roy and Rekha and Anita Raj. He had an extra marital affair with Smita Patil and later married her despite of having two children and a wife. Raj continues to serve both the industry as he is still a part of several casts of Hindi Films. Raj has done many hit movies in last few decades such as 'Barsaat', 'Yaraana', Gupt', 'Bunty aur Babli', 'Corporate', 'Fashion', 'Bodyguard' and 'Khiladi 786'. Raj will next be seen in 'Rabba Main Kya Karoon' and 'Bullet Raja'.
