Renzil D'Silva Biography

Renzil D'Silva is a famous film director, ad film maker and screenplay writer. The talented guy has also a wide experience as a creative director in an advertising agency.

He began his showbiz career as a story writer for feature films. His first film as a story writer was 'Aks'. Later he contributed to the screenplay of the movies like 'Shoebite' ,'Johnny Mastana' , 'Hook Ya Crook' , 'Luck' and 'Rang De Basanti' etc. Out of which, 'Rang De Basanti' got lots of critical acclaim worldwide. The film also won numerous prestigious awards in India and on international level.

Renzil got a chance to work with Karan Johar shortly after 'Rang De Basanti'. He directed Karan Johar's drama 'Kurbaan'. He had written the screenplay for this movie as well. The movie received nominations for many Indian awards. Later, D'Silva wrote the screenplay for Karan Johar's teenage flick 'Student Of The Year'. The talented writer next wrote the story and screenplay for 'Ungli' his own directorial venture. Renzil recently wrote for the TV series featuring Anil Kapoor. The tv serial is an Indian version of the international TV series '24'. The writer-director has got a chance to work with prominent directors of Bollywood like Mani Ratnam, Karan Johar, David Dhawan and Shoojit Sircar.

Besides this, D'Silva used to work as an advertising creative director for about 20 years. The director possesses an experience of working for the big ad film production agencies like Rediffusion, JWT, Mudra DDB, Saatchi & Saatchi,Mather and Ogilvy. He has started O&M's second agency named as Meridian in 2008. Throughout his career in the field of advertising, the talented guy has won various international and national awards for his ad films. The filmmaker of repute is all set to deliver some magnum opuses in Bollywood as well.
