Rishi Kapoor is an Indian Actor most acknowledged for his Chocolate hero image in 80's. Rishi is one among the mainstream actors of Bollywood of late 70's to early 90's. Rishi is the second son of ShowMan Raj Kapoor and Grand Son of Actor Prithviraj Kapoor. Actors Shammi kapoor and Shashi Kapoor are his Paternal Uncles while Actors Randhir kapoor and Rajiv Kapoor are his brothers. Rishi is the most successful among the three brothers. Rishi is married to actress Neetu Singh and they have two kids Ranbir Kapoor and Riddhima Kapoor Sahani. Though Rishi was a well known Romantic hero of his times he has equally well portrayed some comic and gray characters. He was more known for his powerful dialogue deliveries and a wide range of expressions. Rishi was also a superb dancer, probably the first hero who could dance. Rishi also created a unique Style statement with his bell bottoms and scarves, among the young crowd of those times. Rishi was also known as Qawali King for his Qawali acts in his various movies.

Rishi Kapoor was born on September 4, 1952 in South Mumbai in the filmy family of Kapoors. He completed his school from Campion School of Mumbai. Rishi featured as a child artist in the song 'Pyar Hua' of his Dad's Movie 'Shree 420'. Then, he played the childhood role of Raju, a character played by his father Raj in 'Mera Naam Joker' (1970). He debuted as an Adult in 1973 movie 'Bobby' alongside newcomer Dimple Kapadia. Thereafter, he had played the lead characters in about 92 movies of which about 51 are a Solo Lead. He has mostly co-starred his wife Neetu Singh in several movies and the pair has given many hits together like 'Khel Khel Mein' (1975), 'Rafoo Chakkar' (1975), 'Kabhi Kabhi' (1976), 'Amar Akbar Anthony' (1977). He got more success for playing supporting roles than lead ones. He also became famous as the younger brother of Amitabh Bachchan in most of his films like 'Naseeb', 'Amar Akbar Anthony' and 'Coolie'. In late 80's and Early Nineties he featured in some successful movies like 'Chandni' (1989), 'Henna' (1991), 'Bol Radha Bol' (1992), 'Deewana' (1992), 'Damini' (1993) but in the late nineties he suffered many failures and started doing some supporting roles. In 1999, he ventured into direction with 'Aa ab laut Chalen' which turned into a flop. He featured in 'Kuch Khatti Kuch Meethi' of 2001 but his role of a cool dad in Kunal Kohli's 'Hum Tum' (2004) was liked by one and all. After it Rishi played a new innings and established himself as a character actor by playing different roles in 'Namastey London', 'Luck By Chance', 'Delhi 6', 'Love Aaj Kal', 'Chintu Ji', 'Do Dooni Chaar', 'Patiala House', 'Agneepath', 'Housefull 2', 'Student of the Year' and most recently 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan'.

Rishi will next portray a role on big screen in David Dhawan's 'Chashme Baddoor', a remake of a 1981 hit comedy with the same name. Rishi has a busy schedule ahead as he will also be a part of movies like 'D-Day', 'Kaanchi' and 'Besharam'.
