Sameer Sharma is a budding movie director of Bollywood. He debuted as a fully fledged director with his movie 'Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana' in 2012. Sameer Sharma hails from the Punjabi family of film distributor B.M. Sharma, who was his paternal grandfather. Singer Mukesh was his maternal Grandfather. Actor Neil Nitin Mukesh is his cousin.
Sameer Sharma began his filmy career as an assistant director in films like 'Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge' and 'Dil To Pagal Hai' both for Yash Raj Films. He has also written for the films like 'Swades', 'Bhoot' and 'Khoya Khoya Chand'. He wrote dialogues for Rituparno Ghosh's film 'Raincoat'. Sameer debut movie 'Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana' starred Kunal Kapoor, Huma Qureshi in the lead roles. It was a story where a good for nothing guy sets out to trace the forgotten recipe of Chicken Khurana. It was a comedy revolving around a Punjabi family. Sameer had admitted that he derives inspiration through movie like 'Anand' and 'Bawarchi' and he want to make films which can be remembered.
Currently, Sameer is working on his next flick named 'Jugalbandi', which is set on a backdrop of Music. It is a dedication for his maternal grandfather and legendary singer Mukesh. It will narrate the tale of two musicians, the Guru and the Shishya.
