Sanjay Dutt Biography

Sanju Baba aka Sanjay Dutt is a vividly known actor of Indian Cinema. Sanjay is known and liked for his strong baritone and hard-hitting dialogue deliveries. Also he has got the max acceptance playing 'Bhai' kind of roles in movies.

Born on July 29, 1959, Sanjay is the son of yesteryear Actors Sunil Dutt and Nargis. Social worker Priya Dutt is his sister. He has a daughter Trishala from his first wife Richa Sharma who died in 1991, his second wife was Rhea pillai with whom he got separated in 2005. He is 3rd time married to Manyata Dutt and they have twins named Shahraan and Iqra.

Sanjay appeared in the movie 'Reshma Aur Shera' in his childhood which had his father Sunil Dutt. But he debuted as a grown up in 1981 movie 'Rocky'. In 1982 he appeared in successful 'Vidhaata'. But it was his 1986 movie 'Naam' alongside brother-in-law Kumar Gaurav which proved his mettle in acting. He was praised for Kabzaa (1988) and Hathyar (1989). Before the release of his super hit 'KhalNayak' he was arrested for a charge to be involved in 1993 Mumbai Bombings. Dutt spent most of his days in jail for the next four years. He came back in 1997 and appeared in a few movies. But it was the film 'Vaastav' for which he got a Filmfare Award for best actor category and marked his comeback. He got critical acclaim for his roles in 'Mission Kashmir', 'Kurukshetra', and successful 'Kaante' etc. Then he featured in Rajkumar Hirani's 'Munna Bhai M.B.B.S' which gave him the much needed boost and acclaim. His movies 'Musafir', 'Parineeta' were a hit. In 2006 he acted in 'Lage Raho Munnabhai' which was a huge hit. He then appeared in super hits 'Dhamaal', 'Shootout at Lokhandwala', 'Double Dhamaal'. He was praised for essaying a negative character in 'Agneepath' and lately appeared in successful 'Son of Sardaar'. Sanjay Dutt has been in news for quite a long time from the beginning of his career for cases related to illegal possession of weapons, possession of illegal substances, his drug addiction, and custody case for daughter Trishala etc.

Sanju Baba will next be seen in 'Zila Ghaziabad' releasing on Feb 22. He has a line of films in his kitty like 'Zanjeer', 'Policegiri' and 'Ungli'
