Handsome young man Shreyas Talpade is a perfect example of a Television actor who has successfully morphed into Marathi and then Hindi film industry. The talented actor was born on 27th January 1976 in a Maharashtrian family in Mumbai. Shreyas hails from Pathare Prabhu family who used to reside in a suburban part (Andheri West, Lallubhai Park) of Mumbai. His father is Bhupesh Talpade. The simple Marathi Mulga studied at Shree Ram Welfare Society High School in Andheri West.

Shreyas commenced the journey of his acting career by taking part in the stage shows around Maharashtra. He played a key role in the Zee TV's serial 'Woh'. He was seen in the mini-serials made by Adhikari brothers. He came into the limelight after he was featured in a Marathi TV serial named 'Damini' as Tejas.

Shreyas made his debut in Bollywood with the film 'Iqbal' which was directed by Nagesh Kukunoor. In this film, Shreyas essayed a very challenging role of a deaf and mute guy who aspires to become a successful cricketer. The film as well as Shreyas's performance was well received by the critics and the audience. He was next seen as an impersonator ( a man having many disguises) in Nagesh Kukunoor's venture 'Dor'. This film also got rave reviews from one and all. By this time, Shreyas had managed to flaunt his acting skills in the industry , so many filmmakers approached him with the offers. He initially played some minor roles in the films like 'Revati' ,'Raghu More - Bachelor of Hearts' and 'Aankhen'.

In 2006, Shreyas was seen in Sangeeth Sivan's 'Apna Sapna Money Money' along with Riteish Deshmukh. In 2007, Shreyas got his biggest career opportunity, where he was featured with Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone in a blockbuster 'Om Shanti Om'. The film was directed by Farah Khan. Then Shreyas was also seen in 'Bombay to bangkok' , another film by Nagesh Kukunoor.

Some of the films in which Shreyas has showcased his acting talent are 'Aggar' ,'Dil Dosti Etc' ,'Welcome To Sajjanpur', 'Golmaal Returns' ,'Dashavatar' ,'Paying Guests' ,'Aage Se Right' ,'Click' ,'The Hangman' ,'Help' , 'Aashayein' ,'Golmaal 3' ,'Mirch' ,'3 Thay Bhai' ,'Hum Tum Shabana' ,'Will You Marry Me?' ,'Housefull 2' ,'Joker' ,'Kamaal Dhamaal Malamaal' etc. The talented actor will flaunt his good looks and outstanding performance in 'Bhaiyyaji Superhit' , 'Golmaal 4' ,'Chemistry' and 'Dostana 2'.

The main foray of Shreyas is in his mother tongue Marathi. He gave some superb and memorable performances in the films like 'Nidaan' ,'Pachhadlela' ,'Savarkhed : Ek Gaav' ,'Aai Shappath...!' , 'Bhet' ,'Bayo' and 'Sanai Choughade'. Along with playing a key role in 'Sanai Chaughade', he produced the film as well.

Shreyas is married to Deepti who is a psychiatrist. Shreyas met Deepti when he went to her college for an event as a celebrity. She was the G.S. (General Secretary) of the college. Eventually they fell in love and got married.

The cool dude has won many awards and nominations for his memorable performance in his films. He has won Zee Cine Critics Award as the Best Actor for 'Iqbal' in 2006, Star Screen Award Best Comedian for 'Dor' in 2007, Stardust Breakthrough Performance Award (Male) for 'Om Shanti Om' in 2008. In the same year, he was nominated for Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award for 'Om Shanti Om'. He was earlier nominated for Filmfare Best Male Debut Award for 'Iqbal'. Shreyas again received a nomination for Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor for 'Golmaal Returns'.
