Shweta Menon Biography
Shweta Menon is a famous Television anchor, model and actress. Shweta mainly features in Malayalam and Hindi films. She has done a few films in Tamil and Telugu as well. She is originally from Valanchery in Kerala but was born in Chandigarh on 23rd April 1974. Her father was in Indian Air Force and her mother was a homemaker. Shweta did her schooling from Kendriya Vidyala in Kozhikode.
Shweta began her journey in showbiz with a Malayalam film 'Anaswaram' in 1991. After that she focused on her modeling career. In 1994, she participated in Miss India contest and finished as a second runner up with Aishwarya Rai and Sushmita Sen. Shweta then became first supermodel for Gladrags in 1994. She ended as a runner up in Miss Asia Pacific contest in 1994.
Shweta has appeared in over 30 Hindi films. Some of her noted Hindi films are 'Maqbool' ,'Corporate' , 'Asoka', 'Bandhan' ,'Shikari' ,'Ab Ke Baras' ,'Dhund' ,'Praan Jaye Par Shaan Na Jaye' , 'Sandwich' etc. She has been doing numerous Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu films since her debut and has won many awards for her excellent performance. Besides doing films, Shweta has appeared in many Television shows and hosted many shows. She is married to Sreevalsan Menon in 2011. The couple has a daughter named Sabaina.
