Siddique Lal is an Indian film director and screen writer of Malayalam, Tamil and Hindi cinema. He was also a part of the well-known director duo Siddique Lal.
He began his career as an assistant director to Fazil. Fazil had seen Siddique along with Lal performing in the Cochin Kalabhavan troupe. Later, Siddique joined hands with Lal to work together for many directorial ventures and came to be known as Siddique Lal. The Jodi gave several hits in south like 'In Harihar Nagar', 'Godfather' and 'Ramji Rao Speaking' which was later made in Hindi as 'Hera Pheri' by Priyadarshan. Later, they had a split where Siddique continued with the direction but Lal moved on to acting and producing. Comedy forms the identity of Siddique's films.
After directing several hit Tamil and Malayalam movies, Siddique entered the Hindi film Industry with Salman Khan Starrer 'Bodyguard' in 2011. It was a remake of his Malyalam directorial. The film was well received by critics and viewers and emerged as a blockbuster.
