For the very first time, she appeared on the silver screen in 'Cheluvi', a Kannada film directed by Girish Karnad. Sonali Kulkarni is an Indian actress born in Pune on 3 November 1974. She hails from a Maharashtrian Brahmin family. The father of Sonali is an engineer and she is having two brothers. After completing her schooling from Abhinav Vidyalaya in Pune, she did her graduation in Political Science from Ferguson College. Being a brilliant person, she managed to achieve scholarship in Marathi Literature. The intelligent lady was also a part of an Italian movie titled 'Fuoco Su di Me' and she bagged the award for the same in Milan International Film Festival 2006.

This famous face has been in various Marathi and Hindi films. Sonali Kulkarni showed her acting talent in the Marathi films like 'Deool', 'Doghi', 'Ringa Ringa', 'Gulmohar', 'Gandha', 'Gabhricha Paus', 'Tya Ratri Paus Hota', 'Vasudev Balwant Phadke', 'Sakhi', 'Restaurant', 'Devrai', 'Kairee' and 'Mukta'. For the acting performance in the film 'Chaitra', Sonali received a Special Jury Award in the 49th National Film Awards in the year 2002. Talking about her career in Hindi movies, she left an unforgettable impression by her performance in the films like 'Singham', 'Dil Chahta Hai', 'Taxi No. 9211', 'Well Done Abba', 'Darna Zaroori Hai', 'Mission Kashmir', 'Dil Vil Pyar Vyar', 'Shadow' and many more.

Sonali has attained an enormous fame through her weekly column 'So Kool', which gets published in a supplement 'Viva' from a Marathi newspaper Loksatta. She even published a book by the name 'So Kool'. Eminent persona Nana Patekar was present at the release of the book.

The actress does not lag behind when it comes to showcasing dancing skills. She has proved it in the television celebrity dance reality show 'Jhalak Dikhla Jaa' aired on Sony TV. Sonali had an interesting association with Marathi TV channel 'Doordarshan' by being a part of show titled 'Kata Rute Konala' in 1996. The beauty even grabbed a RAPA Award for the category of Best television performance of the year.

After ending her first marriage with theatre persona Chandrakant Kulkarni, Sonali Kulkarni tied the knot with Fox TV Studios' MD Nachiket Pantvaidya on 24th May, 2010. The couple is having a sweet daughter, who is born in the year 2011.
