Suhel Seth Biography

Suhel Seth, tousled salt n pepper hair et al, is a man of many talents and passions of which theater is one.

History

Suhel Seth studied at La Martinier and Jadavpur University. He graduated in English Honours and also holds an M.A. degree in International Relations.

He was wed to Sandhya Narain. However, they parted ways a few years later.

He began his career at Ogilvy & Mather. He was then associated with ITC Financial Services and Peregrine Capital. He co-founded the ad agency, Equus, with his brother Swapan in 1995. He is now the CEO of the consultancy, Counselage, which deals with marketing and branding.

Theater & Films

He played small parts in many films by Mrinal Sen and is also active on the theater circuit in New Delhi. He was seen in the play, Bhutto.

He even got a taste of the big screen when he appeared as a journalist in Pooja Bhatt's Rog. In 2010, he will be playing the part of a doctor in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Guzaarish which stars Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai.

Master of Many Games

Theater and his knack for advertising and marketing aside, Seth is articulate, outspoken, and brimming over with energy that is rather contagious. So it is no surprise to see him on television, as a lecturer at IIM, and as a speaker at many industry meets.

He also writes- he is a columnist for The Asian Age, The Hindustan Times, and Business India. He has collaborated with Khushwant Singh and R.K. Laxman on two books on Calcutta and one on the Indian Airlines.

He is on the advisory board of Coco Cola India, British Airways, and Citibank India among others.
