Tanvi Azmi is an Indian actress, born on November 9th to the actress Usha Kiran and Dr. Manohar Kher in Mumbai. Her brother Advait Kher was a former model. Her mother being the actress, acting was in her genes. Therefore, she decided to lead a career in it and marked her debut in Bollywood with 'Pyari Behna' in the year 1985. Next she stepped into the television with the popular shows like 'Mirza Ghalib', 'Lohit Kinare' and 'Jeevanrekha'.
Being half-Maharashtrian by birth, Tanvi is well-versed with Marathi too. This led her to act in Marathi films and serials. She has even acted in Malayalam film 'Vidheyan' opposite south-superstar Mammootty. Her naturalistic performance is appreciated in the films like 'Darr', 'Akele Hum Akele Tum', 'Aks', 'Delhi 6', 'Aurangzeb', Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani', 'Bobby Jasoos' and 'Lai Bhaari'.
Tanvi is married to cinematographer Baba Azmi, brother of actress Shabana Azmi.
