Twinkle Khanna Biography
Twinkle Khanna aka Twinkle Khanna is a daughter of famous actor couple late Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia. She is married to well known actor Akshay Kumar. The couple is blessed with two kids, son Aarav and daughter Nitara. Former actress Rinke Khanna is her sister. She has left the film industry after her marriage with Akshay Kumar in 2001. She then ventured into the interior designing and emerged as a successful and award winning interior designer. She is a co-owner The White Window store. Twinkle was born on 29th December 1974 in Pune, Maharashtra.
Twinkle made her debut with Bobby Deol in 'Barsaat' in 1995. The film fared well at the box office. Twinkle received the Filmfare's best female debut award for her performance in 'Barsaat'. After this film, she got a chance to act with the industry's some of the popular actors like Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt , Saif Ali Khan and Ajay Devgn.
Some of her noteworthy roles in the films are 'Jab Pyar Kisi Se Hota Hai','Baadshah' ,'Mela' ,'International Khiladi' ,'Jaan' ,'Itihaas' ,'Yeh Hai Mumbai Meri Jaan' ,'Zulmi' ,'Joru Ka Ghulam', 'Jodi No.1' ,'Love Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega'. She has appeared with renowned south actor Venkatesh in a Telugu film 'Seenu'. Twinkle left the industry after her marriage with Akshay Kumar in 2001. She recently was seen in a special appearance in Akshay Kumar's 'Tees Maar Khan'.
Twinkle did interiors for Rani Mukherjee's house in 2006. She also produced two films 'Patiala House' and 'Tees Maar Khan'. Twinkle's store 'The White Window' in a collaboration with her long time friend Gurlein Manchanda has received the prestigious Elle Dcor International Design Award recently. She is planning to expand the store throughout India.
