Vijender Singh Biography

Vijender Singh is an Indian Olympic boxer and DSP Haryana Police, born on 29th October 1985 in the middle-class family of Bhiwani, Haryana. He is the son of a bus driver, who made India proud at the Olympics Games. He completed his schooling in Bhiwani and got graduated from Vaish College. Getting inspired by his brother Manoj, he decided to pursue boxing as a sport. In his early days, he used to practice at Bhiwani Boxing Club where his coach former national level boxer Jagdish Singh recognized his talent. Through his utmost dedication he represented India at Beijing Summer Olympics- 2008 and won a bronze medal. His victory earned him the prestigious Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award.

Other than boxing, Vijender is also famous for his hunk man personality. His at the peak popularity brought him to Bollywood with the film 'Fugly'. Vijender is married to his longtime girlfriend Archana Singh and has a son from her.
