Vinay Pathak Biography

We all smile as soon as we see this guy. Not because he looks funny but because the level of comedy he does and his timing with the punches along with his skillful acting makes all the world LOL(laughing out loudly) and ROTFL(Rolling On The Floor Laughing). Vinay Pathak a born actor and comedian is famous for his dialogue delivery and timing. Born on 12th July 1968, in the Bhojpur city of Bihar, Vinay is a full fledged theatre person.

Talented Vinay completed his schooling from Vikas Vidyalaya in Ranchi and then completed his graduation from Allahabad University. Further he went to US for higher studied. He studied at the State University of New York and simultaneously started acting in many plays too. There he decided to be an actor by profession. After returning to India, he started his acting career by doing small roles in TV serials and Hindi films. Meanwhile he was doing theatre plays also. But he got a real fame through the film 'Khosla ka Ghosla.' Everyone loved his performance in that film and soon he got the chance in his next film 'Bheja Fry' which won him accolades.

Along with his good friend Ranvir Shorey, he hosted many sports shows and talk shows on the television. He also produced a TV series and acted in it. The serial was 'Hip Hip Hurray'. His character of Vinny Sir became very popular amongst youngsters. He and Ranvir hosted many shows like 'Oye','Kahaani Poori Filmy Hain' 'The great Indian comedy show' etc.

The great actor has also acted in many commercial films like 'Fire','Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam','Johnny Gaddaar','Aaja Nachle','Khoya Khoya Chand','Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi' etc. But his work in the film 'Chalo Dilli','Kaccha Limboo','Jo Dooba So Paar - It's Love in Bihar!' was appreciated although the film failed at the box office. His film 'Antardwand' has won the national award for best film on social issues in 2009. His notable film till today is 'Dasvidaniya' which he produced also.

The talented actor is married to Sonika Sahay and has two daughters. Recently he played supporting roles in the films like 'Pappu Can't Dance Saala','Tere Mere Phere','Bheja Fry 2' in which he got praises from critics and his fan following.

Currently he is busy with many projects as 'Mumbai Cutting' etc.
