Vir Das Biography

Vir Das is a Comedian turned Actor of Hindi Film Industry. Vir has been a part of hit films like 'Badmaash Company' and 'Delhi Belly'. Vir Das was born on 31st May 1979 in Dehradun. He has done his schooling from Indian Language School in Lagos, Nigeria and Shimla and Delhi. He graduated from Knox College, Illinois in Economics and Theatre with concentration in performance. He was a part of the Stanislavsky Program of Harvard University in the coalition to the Moscow Arts Theatre. Vir has done several comic plays and standup comedian acts in various big theatres in several countries including India. After gaining much fame in theatres he came back to India in April 2003 and thereafter went on to perform over hundred comedy shows in different cities. Vir began hosting some shows on Zoom Channel namely Is Route Ki Sabhi Linein Mast Hai and Ek Rahin Vir. He hosted a bunch of shows like Top Drive Gateway on Star World, Cricket First on Zee Sports Not Now Showing on CNN-IBN and News on The Loose on CNBC-TV 18. He was also a part of the ensemble of the The Great Indian Comedy Show on Star One and also did Lo Kar Lo Baat on Sab Tv.

Vir who was till now infatuated with acting in films started doing small roles in movies like 'Mumbai Salsa', Namastey London', 'Love Aaj Kal' etc. But He got his Big Break in 'Parmeet Sethi's 'Badmaash Company' (2010) where he presented a different side of his acting caliber. The movie was a super hit one. Then he starred in Aamir Khan produced 'Delhi Belly'. This time too he was lucky as the movie did take off well with the audiences and critics both. The young guy has shown some of his potential and will surely reveal more in his upcoming movies. This dude will next be seen in 'Go Goa Gone' a Saif Ali Khan Production. He will also be seen in 'Revolver Rani' alongside Kangana Ranaut.
