Vivek Oberoi is quite a known personality in the Indian film industry, who has been here since the last decade. Born on 3rd September 1976, he is the son of the popular 80s Bollywood actor Suresh Oberoi, who has worked in numerous films. He studied in Ajmer's Mayo College and was chosen by a film director at a London acting workshop, from where he continued his acting journey in New York by completing a film acting Master's Degree.He has also done some script writing in India. He is married to Priyanka Alva, the daughter of Karnataka Minister Jeevaraj Alva.
He made his Bollywood debut with director Ram Gopal Varma's Mumbai gangster flick 'Company' in 2002, for which he was awarded the Best Debut and Best Supporting Award in the Filmfare Awards. Then he was seen in thriller 'Road' and then his first love story 'Saathiya' with Rani Mukerji in 2002. After that he has been seen in numerous films like 'Dum','Masti', 'Yuva' and 'Kisna'. However his roles in 'Omkara' (2007) and 'Shootout At Lokhandwala' (2007) are very popular. However, his role as 'Paritala Ravi' in the violent political drama 'Rakht Charitra' by Ram Gopal Varma has been the most noted one. In addition, he has himself done the Tamil dubbing for 'Rakht Charitra ' and 'Prince'.
However, that's not all about him. Apparently he also made a film titled 'Watch Indian Circus' in 2011 which was featured in the 16th Busan Film Festival. It won the Audience Choice Award in Best Film category amongst 3000 films from world over. This was the first Indian film to win an award in the film festival.
The actor has also been involved in philanthropic activities. He adopted a Tsunami struck village in the Tamil Nadu's Cuddalore district and arranged relief supplies for it. Also, he runs a charitable organization called the Yashodhara Oberoi Foundation (YFO) and is the brand ambassador for anti-tobacco campaign by the WHO. He has also won the Good Samaritan Award from Rotary International. Apart from that he was also involved in many other philanthropic activities and has donated Rs 3 million in all.
Of his recent releases is 'Kismet Love Paisa Dilli' in 2012. He will be next seen in the film 'Bloody Paki' produced by Mani Ratnam and 'Jayanta Bhai Ki Luv Story' where he will star opposite to the gorgeous Neha Sharma. He will also be seen in the much awaited 'Zila Ghaziabad' and 'Krrish 3'.
