Yash Chopra aka Yash Raj Chopra is considered as one of the most high profile directors of the Hindi film industry. He was one of the pioneers of Hindi cinema. He has changed the insight of Hindii film industry by transforming the way of film making. He is a successful director but his production house too owns a fame worldwide.

Yash Chopra was born on 27th September in 1932 in Lahore before the Indian-Pakistan partition. Later, he shifted to Ludhiana in Punjab. He started his career by assisting director I. S. Johar. He has also worked under the banner of B. R. Chopra. Yash Chopra's first film was 'Dhool Ka Phool' starring Mala Sinha and Rajendra Kumar. His next was Dharamputra. His films earned much recognition and appreciation due to its story and direction. Through Dharamputra, actor Shashi Kapoor made his successful debut. This film established Yash Chopra in the industry and then he continued to contribute to industry till the year 2012. He gave the classics like 'Ittefaq' ,'Aadmi aur Insaan' and 'Waqt'.

Yash Chopra established his own production house in the year 1970. His first film under his production house was 'Daag'. He later gave some stunning successes like 'Silsila' , 'Chandni', 'Lamhe', 'Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge', 'Mohabbatein', 'Dil To Pagal Hai', 'Dhoom', 'Veer-Zaara' , 'Saathiya' , 'Fanaa', 'Rab ne Bana Di Jodi', 'Bunty aur Babli', 'Chak De India', 'Bachna Ae Haseeno', 'Mere Brother Ki Dulhan', 'Band Baaja Baaraat', 'Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl' , 'Ek Tha Tiger' and many more. 'Yash Raj films' is famous for giving a chance to new talents in the every aspect of film making. Recently after 'Veer-Zaara', the director has directed one film 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan' starring Shah Rukh Khan, Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif. The film was a hit. This was the last film for Yash Chopra aka Yash Chopra as he passed away on 21st October 2012 by Dengue Fever.

Yash Chopra was married to Pamela Chopra and the couple has two sons. Director Aditya Chopra and actor Uday Chopra. Throughout his career, he won 5 national film awards, the legion of honor award, 11 Filmfare awards, reputable Dadasaheb Phalke award, Padma Bhushan award, Busan International Film Festival - Asian Filmmaker of the Year award and many more. He was a die hard film man. He was a master whose contribution to the Bollywood is really enormous.
