Crowned as Miss World in the year 1999 in London, Yukta Mookhey is an Indian model and actress. She was 22 years old, when she won the competition. Yukta was born on 7 October 1977. She was the 49th Miss World. On completing her supremacy as Miss World, Yukta handed over her crown to Miss World 2000 Priyanka Chopra . Yukta is also the winner of the title Femina Miss India 1999.

Yukta Mookhey hails from Northern India. Sindhi is the mother tongue of Yukta. The model was in Dubai with her family for seven years for her studies. In 1986, Mookhey family returned to Mumbai and started living in Mulund (a suburb in Mumbai). Her father, Inderlal Mookhey was company director of Ragz Clothing Company. Now, he is a real estate agent and simultaneously manages stocks and bonds. Yukta's mother Aruna Mookhey runs a personal and professional grooming saloon named 'Swiss Chalet' in Mumbai. Kanwal, who is Yukta's younger brother, is an engineering student.

Yukta was a student of V.G. Vaze College in Mulund. She is Zoology degree holder and also learned Fine Arts for three years. From Aptech institute, she finished her diploma in computers. The brilliant model then opted for a Hindustani Classical Music course for three years.

The beauty with brain appeared on the big screen for the first time in an item number in one of the Tamil movie named 'Poovellam Un Vasam' in 2001. In Bollywood, she debuted with the film 'Pyaasa ' opposite Aftab Shivdasani . After this, Yukta was seen in films like 'Love In Japan ' and 'Memsahab ' in 2005. She performed in a music video called 'Kathputli' in 2006. Yukta acted in one Bhojpuri flick titled 'Kab Kahaba Tu I Love You' in 2007

Yukta tied the knot with Prince Tuli on 7 September 2008. Her marriage was a conventional 'sikh' ceremony held in Nagpur gurudwara. Yukta and Prince are having a son, Ahhrein.
