Zakir Hussain is known for the prominent supporting roles in Hindi and South Indian films. Zakir is famous for his comic and negative roles. People know him from his best roles in the films like 'Sarkar' and in 'Johnny Gaddaar'. Zakir Hussain is originally from Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. He is born and brought up there. When he was in college in Delhi, he got attached to the small time theatre. Later he attended the Shri Ram Center of Performing Arts. He also got training of acting in the National School of Drama. After passing out from NSD, he did theatre for a while and then shifted to Mumbai to try his luck in the films. He appeared in the television series like Firdaus, Gaatha and Kitty Party. He got a known face in the industry by then. His debut film is 'Ek Hasina Thi' in 2004. His role was very short in the film but he managed to impress the audience and critics by that role. His performance of a cold blooded menace in the film 'Sarkar' was very much appreciated by the public and critics. He got an award for the best actor in the negative role for the same.
Hussain's second memorable role was in Sriram Raghavan's film 'Johnny Gaddaar'. This movie brought him the fame and money too. Till date Zakir has appeared in many Hindi films and in some of the south Indian films too.
