Exclusive! Sejal Jaiswal Talks About Her New Show ‘Crimes Aaj Kal’; Shares How Breaking Into OTT Shows Is Not Easy

Sejal Jaiswal is a popular actress who marked her debut in the acting industry with the famous television show ‘Yeh Dil Mannge More’. Apart from this, the actress has been a part of a number of music videos, TV commercials, and reality shows. Sejal also played a role in the Bollywood film ‘Dhaakad’ which starred Kangana Ranaut in the lead role.

The beautiful actress has now bagged another web series titled ‘Crimes Aaj Kal’ which is streaming on Amazon Mini TV. In an exclusive interview with BollywoodMDB, Sejal spoke extensively about her new series, her role, and how the OTT space opened doors for new talent.

Sejal About Her Role On The Show

Talking about her new show ‘Crimes Aaj Kal’ and about her role in the show, “It’s a crime thriller show, and that’s what I really like doing because thriller is something that I am really fond of and the genre especially. So, I was very excited when this project came up and I am really looking forward to it. The show’s plot revolves around a murder mystery and I am one of the protagonists of the show.”

When asked about her opinion on how OTT shows are playing a major role in the entertainment industry and how it has managed to give opportunities to new talents. The actress said, “OTT has opened doors for new talent and people are getting more opportunities because of OTT. But it looks easy when people say it is easy to crack OTT, but speaking about the casting process is tough. Because now even the makers are very particular about it because very good quality content is brought on OTT. And it is difficult to crack any audition.”

She further continued saying, “Even if it looks like a small role, the producers and the makers are very particular about what they want, and honestly actors who really fit only get the job. So, even though it has opened doors, only talented people are getting the work, and the best people are cast.”

Sejal who has worked in TV shows, Films, and now OTT was asked which platform she enjoys working more on. Sejal expressed, “I love being in front of cameras and as far as I am shooting, I am happy. But if you ask me to pick one, daily soap shooting is very different from how we shoot for web shows and films. Currently, I am getting offers from the web and TV shows. I am aiming for films.”

Sejal Jaiswal’s Upcoming Projects

Sejal spoke about her upcoming projects, saying, “There is a new project on board and it’s a mythological-social show which is helmed by Multiverse Motion Productions. I recently finished shooting for it, it is a very fresh thing to watch. And it is something I have never done, and very challenging at the same time. And when I did it I actually liked it, and it is not like any other mythological show.”
