There are hardly any actors who could slip into any skin of the character and deliver a stunning performance! And Gary Oldman has that ability to transform himself to play any character that he is assigned to! And now, his upcoming biopic, where he’ll be playing the character of former Prime Minister of Great Britain, Winston Churchill and, per the first impression it seems a spectacular story told in a gripping manner!
The film Darkest Hour is set in world war II era, when Winston Churchill been put to face one of his most catastrophic trials in the history, as to negotiated peace treaty with Nazi Germany, or standing firm to fight for the ideals, liberty, and freedom of the great Britain. During that time, Nazi forces were unstoppable and capturing Western Europe and the dire threat of invasion with an unprepared public, a skeptical King, while his own party plotting against him! In midst of chaos, Churchill must withstand his darkest hour, rally a nation, and attempt to change the course of world history in the meantime.
There is no doubt that other actors and the over feel of this is trailer is impeccable but Gary Oldman is one element that despite being unrecognizable, his performance and bearing off Winston Churchill was bang on! The film is directed by Joe Wright who previously directed Pride & Prejudice and Anna Karenina and the Darkest Hour also features Kristen Scott Thomas, Lily James, Stephen Dillane, Ronald Pickup and Ben Mendelsohn. The film is expected to release in January 2018 in India!
